Supporting MCS

Giving

As an independent school, MCS relies on two primary sources of revenue; tuition and fundraising. Fundraising provides the school with the means to enrich our programs and  to enhance the learning environment for our students and faculty.

Your generous financial support is a direct investment in Montessori Community School’s mission to educate the whole child through a unique, child-centered and carefully structured Montessori curriculum.

MCS Annual Giving Campaign

What is the Annual Giving Campaign?

The Annual Giving Campaign is a yearly appeal for contributions to support the current operations of the school. These gifts improve the daily life of every student and every faculty member by enhancing our school’s programs:

*  Academic

*   Music and Art

*   Peace Education

*   Environmental Studies

*   Professional development

*   Tuition assistance

Annual Giving dollars are raised and spent within the same year and are a critical part of the school’s budget. Virtually every independent school across the United States has an Annual Giving Campaign like Montessori Community School’s.

 Your Gift Keeps our Mission Alive

At Montessori Community School, children are encouraged to “learn how to learn,” thus gaining independence and self-confidence.  MCS emphasizes learning by doing and by teaching others.

We provide specially designed, multi-sensorial materials that engage the children constantly in their own learning, allowing each to learn (and to understand) by doing. Multi-age groupings in three-year developmental cycles enable children to internalize what they have learned by teaching the younger children and by being mentors and role models. In this way they also learn leadership and responsibility.

How will my gift be used?

Each gift to MCS directly enhances our children’s learning environment. Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Giving Campaign help MCS further our goals of providing a quality Montessori education for our children and ensures the long-term stability of the school for future generations of students.

Every gift to the Annual Giving Campaign provides Montessori Community School with the resources to meet operating expenses, enrich the learning environment, provide professional development opportunities for the teachers and staff, and provide tuition assistance on a needs basis to qualified students

Who should give to the Annual Giving Campaign?

MCS is a small independent school serving approximately 160 families with a maximum enrollment of 199 students. We do not receive funding from any religious institution. We depend on the support of our parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, faculty, staff and friends of Montessori Community School to enable us to further our educational aims. When our organization is financially healthy, we are able to carry out our mission to its fullest. Ultimately, the entire community benefits.

How much should I give?

The amount you give is a highly personal decision. Please give thoughtful consideration to what MCS means to you and consider making the Annual Giving Campaign one of your top charitable priorities.

You may wish to use our Giving Levels as a guide for determining the amount that is right for you. You might also consider spreading your gift out over several monthly installments, using a credit card or giving appreciated securities.
