Montessori Community School offers partial financial assistance to families of applicants based upon demonstrated financial need. Admissions decisions are not based upon financial need. To be eligible for MCS financial assistance, applicants must first apply to all other possible community resources for tuition support. Applicants should inform the MCS Business office, finance@montessorihawaii.org, of their applications to community resources.
The following community programs offer limited financial assistance:

Preschool Open Doors (POD)
State of Hawaii funded early childhood tuition assistance program.
If a child was born between August 1, 2016 and July 31, 2017, a family is eligible to apply for the 2021-2022 POD year. DHS also gives priority to underserved or at-risk children. The application can be found at patchhawaii.org or humanservices.hawaii.gov and may be submitted via mail, fax, email, or dropped off at the PATCH POD office.

Child Care Connection Hawaii Program (CCCH):
Eligibility requirements for the CCCH program have changed for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency situation, including:
-
Temporarily lifting the monthly gross income eligibility limits for families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic emergency and need child care.
o Families who normally do not qualify due to their income but are essential workers can apply for child care subsidy assistance to help pay for the current child care costs now while they are working.
o Other non-essential worker families who normally do not qualify due to their income can apply for child care subsidy assistance to help pay for their child care costs:
 If the licensed or registered child care provider continues to require payment to hold the child’s seat when the provider resumes operations after the “stay at home” orders are lifted; or
 When the “stay at home” orders are lifted across the State, and parents/guardians resume sending their child to child care.
-
Temporarily eliminating the activity requirement for families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic emergency and need child care.
o Families who have lost their jobs and need child care to search for new jobs can apply for or continue to receive child care subsidy assistance to help pay for child care costs when the “stay at home” orders are lifted across the State or to hold their
space at their current licensed or registered child care provider when the provider resumes operations.
ï‚· Temporarily eliminating family co-payments on a case-by-case basis for families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic emergency and need child care.
o Families who previously had some portion of a co-payment on a sliding fee scale basis while receiving CCCH child care subsidy assistance may have the family co-payment amount waived on a case-by-case basis and child care subsidy payments may be increased with the waiving of the family co-payment amount. Families need to call or email their CCCH subsidy worker to discuss the family’s current needs to adjust the subsidy payment amounts.
